ACDEF
is a Lebanese non-profit organization founded in 2021 by Carmelite Father Raymond Abdo in direct response to the devastating crisis that has plagued Lebanon since 2019. A group of professionals have volunteered to join this effort to support the community, preserve dignity, and safeguard Christian presence in this part of the world.
We make it our duty and mission to help sustain communities in rural areas in Lebanon by ensuring children are safe and educated for the future, and that families have food, warmth, medical assistance, and whenever possible a sustainable income. We support rural communities currently under threat of disintegration to remain steadfast and held together by faith and solidarity.
Our Vision
To see a vibrant Christian presence and hopeful community in the land where Christianity was born, and to see a thriving, resilient Lebanon restored from the devastations of war, economic and political instability, and social unrest.
Our Mission
To support Christian families and communities through programs that sustain rural Christian schools, provide food and health care to families, and safeguard dignity, faith, and hope.
Christian Communities at Risk
In this part of the world where Christianity was born, the Christian population of Lebanon is diminishing. What was once a thriving multi-faith country, considered a safe haven for Christians and the center of trade and commerce in the Middle East, is now a derelict nation with no government and a depleted economy.
Christians are leaving Lebanon by the tens of thousands. They need the support of the global Church so they can survive, and so the Church in Lebanon remains a beacon of hope and stability for the entire Holy Land, witnessing to the wider region beyond.
